My Community

Writing may be a solitary practice. Alone with ideas swirling. Pen on paper. But COMMUNITY is the most important aspect of my writing. On this page, you will find links to the organizations and people who have influenced me to be a better writer. Some have taught me the craft, others have modeled the determination to finish projects, and all have been the encouragers I needed to be where I’m at today, and still need to be to accomplish all my writing goals.

I’d like to send a special shout out to Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society that has been my home for over 15 years and to their awesome support of writers of all levels. Also, to three very special instructors: Sandra McIntyre, who has taught me great editing techniques (Parlay Manuscript Services), Marion Lougheed, who has shown me I can understand poetry (Off Topic Publishing), and Lexie Angelo, who published my chapbook, Camellia Manor, and who continues to awe me with her support of emerging writers (Radical Bookshop and Press).

Also, to my writing brother, Shane Kroetsch, at Pencil on Paper.  You continue to haunt me, amuse me, and amaze me with your fascinating stories. Your support in creating this website is immensely appreciated.
